1960’s Original Arne Hovmand-Olsen Dining Chair Set
1960’s Original Arne Hovmand-Olsen Dining Chair Set
Set of six 1960’s dining chairs designed by Arne Hovmand-Olsen and produced by Mogens Kold, Denmark. These handsome mid-century modern chairs have richly finished, sculptural teak wood frames, original imitation black leather covered seats, expertly curved backrests, and tapered legs. The seats are original and are without padding. This well cared for set of chairs is from a notable and sought after Danish designer, and produced with quality craftsmanship. A great addition to your well collected home!
The design and production period for the model MK 310 (T301) chair was 1960-1969.
Made in Denmark plaque on underside of one chair. Please read full condition description.
Each chair measures: 19.5” W x 19” D x 29.75” H x 17” H (seat).
In great vintage condition: These chairs are fully functional, and show minimal signs of age and use, with some very minor scuffs and dings. There are original ripples and bunching of the upholstery in areas. Original gaps between where the seat and its upholstery meet the legs can be seen at the front of most chairs. It should be noted that two of the chairs have a different joinery technique, which is not flush like the rest, but is an original detail. This joint is between the backrest’s top rail and the stiles at the sides. One of these finger type joints has a crack along it, but all joints are tight without give or play. (please see all photos) - wear consistent with age and use.
